With the world changing so quickly, it’s crucial to take a tour that supports this community and best explain the history of the now-famous gorilla trekking experience and how this old pygmy culture, whose primary means of survival was fruit harvesting for women and hunting for men, helped to safeguard them

DAY 1

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & Pygmies Trail

Our tour guide/driver will meet you at the airport and take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Depending on your arrival time, you can either spend an overnight in Kampala/Entebbe for a fee of less than $100 for late-arriving flights, or immediately head west to the home of the mountain gorillas. The 9 to 10 hours of driving are worthwhile because of the picturesque views of the western countryside, the terraced Kabale Hills, the fruit shops, and, most significantly, the picture-perfect crossing of the equator line with a lunch stop in Mbarara. For millennia, the Batwa lived in harmony with the forest and its inhabitants, including mountain gorillas. Some anthropologists believe that pygmy tribes such as the Batwa have lived in Africa's equatorial forests for 60,000 years or more. Our tour guide will take you to their community where you will be welcomed into their home as they show you wonderful skills they have mastered for generations including fire and cloth making.
DAY 2

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi NP & Boat trip on Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, depart with a packed lunch to the starting point of the gorilla trekking. On arrival at the UWA briefing point, a group of locals will entertain you whereafter each group will be assigned a gorilla family to trek for the day in the company of an armed ranger. Due to the close relationship between humans and these gentle giants, it has been found that most human diseases are easily contractable to these amazing creatures, therefore, humans with signs of airborne diseases are discouraged from coming close to mountain gorillas. Sometimes, they can be completely denied the chance of trekking if rangers find it more severe.

The trekking experience takes between 1- 3 hours and involves slippery paths during hikes. You can hire a porter to help you during the trek with the luggage, or if you feel too tired to walk any longer. After successful trekking, you will be awarded a certificate and drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation

DAY 3

Transfer to Entebbe & Stop at Equator

Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home with a stop at the equator. After breakfast and lunch, you may have time to do some shopping for a souvenir before you take your outbound flight
